Netflix’s First Original Turkish Drama “The Protector”: Cast and Story

Turkish Drama The Protector’s story is based on the novel named A Strange Story of Charcoal and a Young Man (Karakalem ve Bir Delikanlının Tuhaf Hikayesi). This novel is written by Ipek Gokdel.




The creator of Netflix’s First original Turkish drama is Binnur Karaevli, while the producer is Alex Sutherland, management producer is Onur Guvenatam, directors are Can Evrenol, Umut Aral, Gonenc Uyanık, and Gökhan Tiryaki. The screenwriter of the Protector is Ipek Gokdel together with Atilla Unsal and Askim Ozbek.

Story:
Hakan (Çağatay Ulusoy) is an ordinary young man who works as a shopkeeper in Istanbul where 15 million people live. Out of pure coincidence, he learns that he has to protect Istanbul from the mysterious, mystical immortals. His life turns upside down since he gets this ancient order.
