West Ham commander Mark Noble composes open letter encouraging fans to pull together

West Ham skipper Mark Noble has composed an open letter to fans arguing for solidarity after unsettling influences at their last home match against Burnley.

Honorable faced a supporter who went ahead to the pitch amid the 3-0 misfortune at London Stadium on 10 March.

Saturday’s Premier League home match against Southampton is the first since that thrashing, after which 20 fans were given life bans by the club.

In the letter distributed on the club’s site, Noble said the match against Burnley was “one of my hardest days in about 20 years at West Ham, and I never need to see scenes like that again”.

Irate fans attacked the pitch and congregated underneath the executives’ container to challenge the club’s proprietors David Gold and David Sullivan, with the last allegedly being struck by a coin.

The club have reported a security obstruction is to be introduced at the ground to counteract supporters getting excessively near the chiefs’ case.

West Ham are seventeenth in the Premier League, one place and two focuses above Southampton and the assignment zone, with eight diversions remaining.

A further challenge has been arranged outside the ground before Saturday’s match, however Noble has encouraged the fans to get behind the group amid the diversion or face the possibility of dropping into the Championship.

“We require all of you, full-stop, and we can’t perform to our best and win the matches we have to win without you. When you are on melody, there truly are no supporters preferable at rousing their group over West Ham supporters,” he said.

“I can comprehend the disappointments some of you are feeling. This season has not gone how we’d all trusted it would, but rather I would request that you channel your energy to get behind the group, enable us to get past the season with our Premier League status in place, and we can take a seat and reassess things in the late spring.

A week ago, London chairman Sadiq Khan said the stadium administrators – not West Ham – would be in charge of meeting the additional cost brought about by the interest for more prominent security, policing and managing stuck in an unfortunate situation at the Burnley diversion.
